Waterslides Tips & Tricks

TIPS FOR APPLYING WATERSLIDE DECALS

  1. PREPARE THE SURFACE: Ensure that the surface you're applying the decal on is clean and smooth. Any dust, grease, or imperfections can affect the adhesion.
  2. CUT OUT THE DECAL: Trim the decal as close to the design as possible, leaving a small border around the image. This helps in the seamless blending of the decal onto the surface.
  3. SOAK THE DECAL: Place the decal in a bowl of lukewarm water for around 30 seconds or until the decal becomes loose and slides freely on the backing paper.
  4. SLIDE THE DECAL: Gently slide the decal onto the desired surface, positioning it correctly. You can use a soft brush or your fingers to adjust its placement.
  5. REMOVE AIR BUBBLES: Use a clean, damp cloth or sponge to carefully press out any air bubbles trapped beneath the decal. Start from the center and work your way outwards.
  6. SET AND DRY THE DECAL: After ensuring the decal is in the desired position, gently pat the decal with a soft cloth or paper towel to remove excess water. Allow it to dry completely before moving on.
  7. SEAL THE DECAL: To protect the decal and enhance its longevity, apply a layer of clear varnish or sealant over the decal once it has dried. This helps prevent the decal from peeling or fading over time.
